Tommee tippee’s ultralight silicon soother is the lightest soother on the market; meaning it stays in babies mouths or longer, giving them greater comfort.
My super-focused brief, with multiple design, material and cost concepts executed in parallel, allowed rapid delivery of this complex project.
The simple concept, appealing design and strong need resulted it being the mist successful soother launch, and driving more revenue that year than any other innovation in the companies pipeline.
Lightest Silicon Soother - Stays in Babies Mouth
A core of PPSU is overmolded with silicone for robustness and meet strict safety standards. A small pull tab allows extraction from the mouth whilst minimising weight and maintaining the centre of balance.
Multiple design routes were prototyped & mechanically tested; and costed to ensure that the commercial scale could be mapped and strict timeline met.
The soothers were competitively bench marked so that a superior weight claim could be substantiated.

Tommee Tippee’s lightest soother ever, designed to stay put in the littlest mouths to save you having to replace it every few minutes.
Inspired by the shape of their award-winning breast-like teats, this soother moves and flexes just like mum, meaning that it feels so familiar in baby’s mouth that they’re more likely to accept this soother first time.
Made from super soft 100% food-grade silicone it’s safe for little mouths, even newborns. This soother curves around sensitive cheeks and noses to help prevent skin irritation and rashes. Plus it’s anti-static so it doesn’t attract dust, and when you need to give it a clean, you can pop it in the steriliser.
